User Details are only visible to members.	Cal got where he is by cheating. He's not going to stop just because he's at UK--a school that has a checkered past. And I'm not just throwing stones. Memphis is the same way. We've vacated our share of games too.

User Details are only visible to members.	You do realize that UK has a long history of cheating way before he got there, right? Kentucky was BANNED from fielding a team in 1952-52 for point shaving during the previous season. In 1998, they were stripped of their SEC regular season and conference tournament along with their NCAA tournament games. They were banned from the 1990 and 1991 SEC and NCAA Tournaments due to sanctions from the Eddie Sutton era. Calipari has cheated at two other schools. He still cheats at UK. It is only a matter of time before he is caught. I've been watching college hoops since 1983. I have lots of friends who were boosters at the University of Memphis and they can tell lots of stories about things that Cal was doing that the NCAA never heard about. It's okay to be a homer. But the dude is a cheater and everyone knows it.

User Details are only visible to members.	Call me jaded but I think every upper echelon program pushes (and often exceeds) the limits with recruiting. I also believe he NCAA is very inconsistant with its investigations and punishments but to think that Kentucky is such a premier program that they can win without cheating is like believing that Lance Armstrong was so superior a rider that others had to cheat while he remained clean.

User Details are only visible to members.	Of course. There's investigations of some sort behind most blue chip caliber players these days, especially ones who commit to schools out of their region. Most go no where, but the NCAA takes a quick peek at quite a few of them anyway. My only point is that Kentucky isn't the land of milk and honey that you think it is in college hoops, and in order for them to remain at the top they have to break some rules and hope that no one is looking in their direction at the time. As much as it's nice to think that you root for a team that every kid wants to play for, the reality is that athletes are mercenaries and are available to the highest bidder. If you want someone to play, you gotta pay. Or commit academic fraud. Or help mom secure a house loan. T

You do know that there's already been an investigation into the Kentucky program and Coach Cal for recruiting violations with Nerlens Noel, right? Haven't heard anything on it since Aug or Sept, but I believe the investigation was suspended.......which means it will resume again, probably after the current season is finished. Also, money is just 1 of thousands of NCAA infractions that coaches and programs can violate. There's also academic infractions (which is what the investigation at Memphis revolved around). Not to mention that future money doesn't pay current bills. Many of your blue chip college players come from families that think being poor is an upgrade. And when you're 18 years old and grew up with nothing and still have nothing, a few thousand bucks here or there is a big freaking deal. Why else do college players take money in the first place? Usually it's because they're broke and they come from broke families. Chris Webber was the consensus #1 pick when he was at Michigan. That didn't stop him from taking at least $280k in booster money. Kentucky cheats. Calipari cheats. But so does everyone else. You wouldn't really have to dig very deep to find dozens of violations at any major program in this country. Problem with Calipari is that he's an easy target because he doesn't cover his tracks very well. T

Not to mention that I just picked it up about 5 years ago but still haven't fully dedicated myself to actually getting better. Sad thing is that I lived on a golf course for 2 years and still wasn't able to get out as much as I'd have liked. Had the 1st green about 20-30 yds away from my back patio. Sometimes after work, I'd take a handful of balls and a wedge out there and just chip up on the green if there wasn't anyone playing through. T
