Most whiskeys. including blended scotches, are too sweet for me.

I;ll tolerate Makers Mark, and similar, But most others, not so much...

y'know, take out the word "bourbon":

" It's one of those _______ that comes on quietly and quickly escalates to a brief scream, followed by a long, very long, finish and a slight sting at the end. Simply outstanding."

*For the price* Dewars is quite good.

I stress - for the price.

I had some Abelour 16. I was disappointed. I was hoping a $98 bottle of scotch would be tastier. It was good, but honestly - 15 year Glenlivet @ $70 is better.

I'm drinking more scotch these days and less bourbon. Maybe you're having an impact on me. But my favorite of all is still E.H. Taylor bourbon. Simply outstanding, and becoming more widely available - around $50 a bottle these days. If you haven't tried it, I think you should.

Mind you, scotch drinkers may not like the profile. It's one of those bourbons that comes on quietly and quickly escalates to a brief scream, followed by a long, very long, finish and a slight sting at the end. Simply outstanding.

I'm drinking Speyburn 10 yr old.

A little rough.

My kids bought me a bottle of Dewars 12 year old. I'm not usually a fan of blended scotch, but that was tasty.
