Robert I am the same generation as you and I have not had issues with employment. I got a job at 19 and worked my way up. I did not have a college degree for my job but I showed my boss that I was a good employee by showing up every day and doing what was asked. It really hasn't been that difficult. You are in charge of your life. No one is responsible for your shortcomings but you.

"I am starting to believe that you are making all this up. You are the Andy Kaufman of SLS and you've fooled us all. No one in their right mind could possibly believe the things you've posted."

I wish I could believe that.

"Employers these days want ready made employees who need no training."

-----

Robert, this is complete and total nonsense. How do I know? I work as a corporate IT Trainer and Consultant and have been doing it for the last 13 years. And I've been busier the last few years than I've ever been. Companies are investing MORE in training than ever before and all industry projections are that training budgets are going to INCREASE even further in the coming years.

So far, you've provided opinion after opinion with not a single shred of evidence to back it up. Mostly because, the exact opposite of what you post is the truth.

You freely admit you make about the same as a teenager who flips burgers for a living. You complain about the cost of education, but refuse to work enough to pay for it. You complain that you can't get hired in your chosen career because you don't have any experience yet you do nothing to try to gain that experience.

I am starting to believe that you are making all this up. You are the Andy Kaufman of SLS and you've fooled us all. No one in their right mind could possibly believe the things you've posted. Bravo!

Chou:

1) I live in hazleton, however I placed township to hid how close I live when people scan the membership list.

2) it doesn't matter if I live in hazleton or hazleton township. I make x as a result of no one hiring starting no skill.

Save the bullshit about working hard... Hazleton is full of men who worked hard and were rewarded time and again with pink slips or watching people with business college course's pass right by labor and become managers... Typically managers who do nothing but destroy productivity and blame the workers.

Now let me make this plan for you. It doesn't matter the position you work.

Medical IS LIFE. No less so than food and water.

Education is the only thing that provides a meaningful job.

And if the only way employers can compete is by cutting labor cost (wages and benefits) then the employers need to cut themselves to the bone so that the pain encourages them to do their job and promote their business and actually compete.

Right now what we have is a system based on lowering everyone but the top. Look to any income bracket chart and you will see the job creators personal wealth growing sense the 80s and GE workers dropping or stagnating...

There is no excuse for this but excessive greed. As a result, the society has fallen appart and from the debris, capitalism will not rise, it will be trampled upon. Y the collective boots of the masses who'll turn to the big government to provide.

Robert, I was not talking about household income. I am talking about single male income. According to your profile you are a single male. I did make a mistake and look up Hazelton instead of Hazel Township. The median income for a SINGLE MALE is $32,993.

It doesn't matter what other people around PA are making. You only have to compete with the people in your community. If you do better than most of them, you will have a pretty good life.

Look, if your employer abuses you, then get another job. There are other industries in your area. Looks like Amazon has a facility there.

Millions of people work for others and are happy and do well and thrive!

Top:

Minimum wage is 7.25, I am paid 8.25... Only so the employer can maintain his certificates from the cando better business agencies around here.

Most employers who don't require college degrees or skills do not offer full time... At all. I have 34 hours a week. 32 is the minimum for full time.

As for how unemployable I am? I am as employable as one is willing to pay... So long as I have the skills... Or the employer is willing to provide said training.

Employers these days want ready made employees who need no training. Fully equipped with all the skills they want, willing to work what amounts to the legally lowest pays they can pay.

Employers keep making themselves the enemies if the working man and sadly in hazleton, college educated people, leave the first chance they get. That is why hazleton is almost half of the medium income of most other places.

We have fools who think if only you work harder for men who are paid based upon makin you work harder for less and show respect only to those paying them.

Such utter disrespect for ones employees is why this nation is failing... There is too much greed at the top... Expecting to reap spoils like the robber Barron's of old. This is why the very fabric of society is being torn asunder.

So keep suckling from the dick which is t providing, I am sure he enjoys the blow job. At least until the government comes to collect the taxes and adds new ones to the employer for the syphilis he spreads.

13K? Seriously? I made more than that my first year out of college back in the 90s. A full-time minimum wage job pays $14K.

Just how unemployable are you?

Chou:

1) I make 13k

2) Estimated median household income in 2009: $31,267

House hold income is not a single person, it is the total income of every person living in the house. Both parents/parent boy/girl friend, all childrens earnings ect...

So if two adults warn 13k, that is 26k. Add in two kids earning 3k a year while in high school. That is 32k a year.

You also neglected that hazleton is well below PA's median house hold income.

Thank you for this entertaining lesson in math which I provide free of cost to the needy.

Oh yes the wealthy donations...

First donations do nothing to fix the problem... It is a band aid.

Stable income fixes the problem. Education enables upward social ladder progression. Medical care is life sustainment.

So take your statements of the wealthy donating and toss them out the window... They aren't useable to fix anything and don't buy sympathy from me.

Robert,

Do you realize that the wealthy are already donating (voluntarily) huge amounts of resources to the less privileged? The problem is that the "less privileged" are wanting more than their fair share.

I checked the median income for a single male in Hazleton. It's $31144. You aren't downtrodden Robert. You're doing better than your peers (based on my understanding that you make 35K)!

Well if you do not start manning up and paying a fair wage, providing upward mobility and medical coverage for the workers in the US... You won't have to leave the US... A form of communism might come to the US.

I hope not... But the only ones who can stop the people you leave starving from voting for liberals is you, it is the employers... The method? Provide.

Failure to provide will result in more socialism and or communism within our government. Not by the point if a gun, but by the leaver of the voting boxes.
