I just returned from a funeral of a mentor of myself and a few hundred other Nurses .She taught us all to be better care givers and for that I will be grateful for. He daughter read a excerpt from a poem Do stand at my grave and weep by Mary Elizabeth Frye " I am a thousand winds.I am the diamond glints on the snow .Do not stand at my grave and cry .I am not there . I did not die . That was so Carole .May she rest in peace

Your joy is your sorrow unmasked.

And the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears.

And how else can it be?

The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.

Is not the cup that holds your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter's oven? And is not the lute that soothes your spirit, the very wood that was hollowed out with knives?

When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy.

When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.

"Live Life to it's Fullest"

--A rather large tattoo on NFL quarterback Brock Osweiler (and yes, the tattoo included the apostrophe in the word "it's"). (I could tell you a true story about an even worse tattoo disaster by a redneck friend of mine named JoeJoe, but not without cracking myself up in the telling of it).

Sigh. I miss George Carlin. Thought about one of his jokes when the pilot finally got us a landing slot into Seattle in heavy weather last week:

Pilot: "OK folks, we should be on the ground in ten minutes"

George Carlin: "Well that's rather vague."
