sb, I agree that those people who ignore the signs and park where others who need the convenience should be, are selfish insensitive idiots who deserve to be punished.

Mrs. Scandle -- I do understand that some medical conditions are not visible to the naked eye, but those eligible individuals will have a placard or car tag indicating that. I have a handicapped placard issued by the State for my vehicle, but only for use when I am transporting my 81 year old Mom who lives with me to any of her appointments.
The people I observed a couple of days ago had no tag or placard on their vehicle and looked like they were about 30. |

Ah, Mr. Leeza, so we agree again! I misunderstood what you were trying to say to me earlier, perhaps because it seemed you were trying to edjumacate me on something pretty basic.
Doesn't everybody know you're not supposed to park in a handicapped spot if you or your passenger(s) aren't handicapped and don't have the appropriate sticker/placard/license plate? (rhetorical question) |

One another note: When I was going to college here, it was very hard to find parking. You could drive around for 45 minutes before finding a spot. All the time I was seeing handicap cars parking, in regular spaces, while the handicap spaces were empty. It use to really piss me off.

Scandle- what's my point?
"you can't always tell by looking whether someone is handicapped or not. I know several people who have lung diseases that are very debilitating, yet they look perfectly healthy." My point is that if they have a handicapped placard then they can park in the handicapped spot. I have always been annoyed to see healthy looking people without the placard park in the handicapped spot or in the fire lane. I would love to see more of them ticketed. Pet Peeve: cheese-heads who question my posts... (just kidding) |

PG, I was going to say Just what you mentioned, Although one of the HD's I frequent now have contractor parking spots that are larger, that seem to be filled with sports cars for the less chance of dings.....
One store allows larger trucks to now park under the loading areas now because of it. My issues for the large turning radius is an extended cab with a 10'6" long utility , drop bumper with pintle ball , as well as the dual wheels. they take a bit of manuevering. |
