That reminds me speaking of sounds....I hate the sound that snowsuit or warmup suits make when they're made of that slick fabric ....nails on a chalk board! Shoes and clothing should not make noise! Mrs Sav

I have flip-flops with almost 2 1/2 inch heel. Does that make it more acceptable in places other than work?

I know it makes my legs look good.

"PP: people in flip flops anywhere besides the beach!"

Took the liberty of making that more accurate.

Fun,

I am the same way. The hand over the heart, during the National Anthem, is something that started after 9/11. They only time it was done growing up was the Pledge of Allegiance.

"But, I will state that I was right and came out right in the end."

We appreciate the principled stands you take; right on!

"people who sit or do not salute or put their hands over their hearts during the National Anthem"

Actually, putting a hand over your heart is appropriate and expected for the pledge of allegiance. Only fairly recently have some people started doing that during the singing of the anthem. I'm not one of them, which I suppose makes me one of Gina's pet peeves.

@Sed, I was referring to the roads in Princeton/Brunswick area. I spent more time there than I care to remember...And also pretty much every toll way in Eastern PA and NJ. My comment had more to do with the gigantic "creases" (I don't know what else to call it when the road buckles from freezing/thawing) that are everywhere and the best idea they have is to just grind them down flat (thus creating an eventual new pot hole the next time it freezes) instead of cutting in expansion joints and filling them with with the proper stuff.

And you're absolutely right. Driving fast over the roads there is an exciting way to find out whether your kidneys are functioning properly and if your fillings need tightening, never mind how much damage you're doing to your car.

the 101 isn't much better, until you get up to Ventura County, but yeah, I remember dreading any time I had to get on the freeway when I lived out there.

It's always crowded so you can really breathe in the smog.
