That is scary. We like our wine. We also like our lives and respect others like theirs. I have no idea how much money we've spent over the years on taxi's, car service and hotels when one of us didn't play designated. Worth every dime.

I couldn't find that statistic but I did find this one:
Approximately 1.5 million drivers were arrested in 2002 for driving under the influence of alcohol or narcotics. This is an arrest rate of 1 for every 130 licensed drivers in the United States (2003 data not yet available). (NHTSA, 2004) so, if the other statistic is right, that means that there is a lot of people out there drinking and driving and getting away with it. That is very scarey to me. Carrie |

I heard a statistic about drunk drivers on the radio the other day. I don't know the source or whether it's true, but what they said was:
"After 10 p.m., one out of every four drivers on the road is legally drunk. After midnight, it's one out of every two drivers." |

I am always the designated driver also. I usually don't have to drive though because hubby usually only drinks a couple of beers and can drive.
