Planning on purchasing a video camera that is for hobby use. Setup will be based around my powder coating operation along with day and night use at the drag strip.
Not looking to refinance anything to pay for it! |

Just looked at the Cannon website. I'd go with the HF M500 if it were me. You might find one like mine on Amazon.

vixia HF200. I've had it about 3 years or so. I'm sure they've updated them a bit for bigger cmos sensor so your still pics will be better.

I've had really good luck with my Canon. The biggest drawback to shooting HD video is the size of the files (ENORMOUS), and it's time consuming to convert to SD if you want to burn a regular DVD.
