I think all of us have positive traits. All of us. I think our recent trend of arguing back and forth is everyone trying to get their points across. Lets face it. Swinging, generally speaking, is full of I think it is safe to say, educated....educationally intelligent people. Not all, of course...but most swingers I have met are. And when you have strong minded people they are going to want to make their point....myself included.

An interesting, related point my hubby and I discussed last night was that the personality issues we see here are identical to those he sees in a vanilla forum where he frequently posts. He NEVER posts here, has no interest in doing so, and leaves it to me to enjoy all that SLS has to offer.

scandle, i think part of the problem is that so many here pretend to be things they are not. they present themselves as one thing in these threads, but behind the scenes, and specifically in private emails, they reveal another face. there are some here who carry on with others in these threads as if they "like" them, "love" them, "adore" them or whatever. and yet, in private emails, rip these same people to shreds. it is behavior that i "genuinely detest". they allow these people to speak up for them, to defend them, to make excuses for them in these threads believing their feelings are reciprocated, when in reality, they are anything but. i'll be the first to admit i have talked about problems i have had with others in private emails, but to the best of my knowledge, anyone i have spoken of knows i have issues with them and i don't pretend otherwise in the forum. should we ignore these two-faced people? sure. should we leave them to the bullshit they want to call their reality? probably. but human nature is a bitch and the temptation to make an occasional comment to remind someone that we are aware of the facade they present and the despicable behavior with which they are treating their so-called friends with here, is often too tempting to let pass. i realize i need to develop the ability to do that and i know it will make me a better person. i want and need to be a better person, and saying it doesn't make me weak. it gives me the power that comes of being truthful with myself.

It probably "can" but there are several posters who do their damnedest to stoke the fire, with their writing becoming more and more heated and laced with old resentments, posts taken out of context or entirely misrepresented, and narcissistic assumptions that others MUST have been talking about them. It gets excessively tedious to read, though I always hope to see something redeeming. Crazy, huh?

I have an 18 year old...and I understand. No matter how old they are, or even if they are legally adults...they are our babies. And yes, I give only best wishes to a speedy recovery.
