I assumed someone from Washington or Colorado started this thread and was just now coming down from post-election euphoria.

The thread title is misleading.

Also, I don't put Xmas stiff up until the day after Thanksgiving.

yes the punch bowl makes all the difference.

I'm now having flashbacks to being 21 and having the "Italian Stallion" dance on my table while I was drinking a "sex on the beach" lol. My 21st b'day present from my mom.

we don't do much outside, wreaths on doors of house and stable, front entry way to farm. Icicle lights on house and big snowflakes garland around deck rail....hmmmm we do more then I thought! I would love to put lights on the barn too (shhhhh don't tell my man, he gets nervous when I get on ladders and rooftops) but we still have young kids so they still believe and they love all the decorations.

at mom's house we always had a Christmas tree in the living room and in the family room was my "birthday" tree.

So, under the Christmas tree is interchangeable with on the Christmas ottoman?

Our kids are still young enough that we feel some pressure to toss a few lights on the nearest trees and call it done. I may make them do it themselves this year. It is a learning opportunity.

Our first night in the new place will be Dec. 8 (ish) and I can't see decorating before then. Or shopping before then. Our families are pretty much screwed this year.

We haven't decorated our house in years. Call us party poopers.

Yes, I decorate. I do it whenever I feel like it but I refuse to do it before Thanksgiving.

Do you decorate your yard for the holidays? If so when do you pull the switch to light it up thanksgiving night or December first?
