No, I guess I'm one of the lucky guys who can claim Italian ancestry on both sides of my family and no fur sweater.

When the day came and that happened, I decided to no longer channel my inner George "The Animal" Steele and began waxing. I've never looked back.

Pardon the pun.

JW: Have you ever gotten out of the shower and stood in front of the mirror while grooming and looked at your back hair and thought, "That needs brushed" ?

"I'm afraid I'm baffled as to your point."

VA, I wouldn't argue about the potential energy stored in decayed plant matter, primarily coal, but I'm afraid I'm baffled as to your point. What we choose to do verses what we can do is sort of the essence of civilization in my view. Germany produced 6.3 percent of its power from renewables in 2003. By 2014 it was 30%.

I think there is a moral dimension beyond "Yay for today" that implies we should care about what sort of a world our power generation choices will leave for future generations. While I believe climate change is, at this point, likely irreversible that is not the same as believing that 500 ppm CO2 in the atmosphere will be no worse than 800ppm for those who live under that atmosphere.

And as far as the subsidies you quote, there are numbers being thrown around by conservative columnists like spaghetti against a wall. The highest figure I've seen so far is $5 billion and that's speculative and based on projected sales and state tax credits. And if states want to give those subsidies in order to encourage green industries so what? The voters elect the governments in those states. Just like the voters elected the Governor of your state who made it policy that no state agencies will be allowed to publically acknowledge that climate change exists. If Floridians are OK with sea level rise why should I care?
