...And there's an arrow on the gas gauge of most cars that indicates on which side of the car the tank is located.

I was thinking that this thread needed some useful info. So, I thought I'd point that out to y'all.

So, JW about the 9/10ths thing... What's up with that?

Ha! I had a 1971 Super Beetle "automatic" for a little while in college. It was only gonna get the cheapest gas I could find. The only way it got a higher octane is if the car I syphoned gas from had it. :-)

When we moved to Vegas we gave our daughter the mom mobile and bought a Mazda miata.. Never seem to need to fill the tank.

I once owned a '69 VW bug. There was a factory sticker on the inside of the gas cap door that said "Minimum 91 octane". Yeah right.

I have a C230 supercharged 4. Premium Required.

I once owned a turbocharged 3 cylinder Sprint. Regular gas was just fine.

That Sprint was a fun car to drive, but a little scary at high speed. Get above about 90 or so (the speedo only went up to 80, so it's a guess), and the handling would get pretty squirrely...
