The rules are as fluid as a gusher of urine. Wayne has said that he would only consider reports by the offended party but then emailed me once that "many" people took offense to something I posted. He picks and chooses who he suspends and, if he wanted to, could suspend me now because I am being critical of SLS staff. But his suspensions are arbitrary and without clear logic so who knows why one poster can call another disgusting names without punishment while another makes funny comments and gets banned.

That's largely true. I'm sure once in a while Wayne stumbles across something on his own, but it's mostly "who's complaining about you". |

I was suspended once for writing "She seems to have her head up her ass"
I didn't name anyone, and the person reporting the post was blocked from seeing my posts. So it seems not to have much to do with what was said, or how, or to whom. It seems to have everything to do with how you are reported, or by whom. |

Good questions, I wish I knew the answers. I'm still relatively new and very naive about how a lot of this works. I know there's a LOT of comments made to/about me by a particular member that I probably could have/should have reported, but from the looks of it, it would not have been acted upon. From what I can tell, if someone is a consistent "douche canoe" {GOD, I love that word~it's so funny!}, they get a 'free pass', but if someone generally plays nice with others, it doesn't take much to put them on the sidelines. Or so it seems.

Since I am new to the forum thing and there is talk about a suspension, I am curious about a few things. Just trying to understand, not intending to report a person. Can you report a person for being rude or offensive even if the rude or offensive comment is not directed at you? Can report a person for being rude or offensive even if the person blocked you and you found out about their comments from another means? Again, just curious is all, Sophia |
