good luck with all that, njny! I've found people like that are best dealt with swiftly and relegated to as small a space as my past will allow. I'll be glad for you when that's a closed chapter and you and the little miss can breathe more freely. As to the other: thanks. lol I bought these silly straws to amuse myself and the boys. One can either laugh at the silly things in life or cry over life's unfair complexities~ I choose to laugh!

kibbs, that pic is super cute.

JW at the totally self delusional nature of a certain person...the inflated sense of self that allows them to think anything about them is all that and a slice of pie is truly awe inspiring. it's too bad that their delusions of grandeur are completely false. card carrying member of the NEA.

JW if court will be anything other than the usual comedic farce.

True, compliments should be genuine and with no expecation of return. Polite acknowledgement is nice, but should never be expected.

DD I'm with you ! A sincere compliment needs no response in this format. Anything given with expectation of any kind of return is no longer a gift...it's a bribe.

You missed it SED. There was a big thread in this. The consensus was that compliments on here should be acknowledged or it was rude.

My thoughts were that in person, of course a compliment is met with a thank you but in the context of a forum, especially after several posts, thanking someone just brought undue attention to the compliment and could be seen as an attention device and could give the wrong impression to people with whom you do not intend to build a relationship. My opinion was soundly denounced.

So, I've learned SLS expectations.
