I was responding to Sed's assertion that only flirting is as lazy as C&P posts and she did so in a somewhat aggressive manner, as is her norm. I responded in kind by being just as forceful in pointing out that YOU simply yell and scream and feign intelligence. Clear now or do I need to bore you with 15 paragraphs as you are want to do?

Doesn't matter what a person notices first, if it makes a good impression then there is an opportunity to learn more and maybe find something even more appealing. I appreciate an intelligent woman but that may not be the first thing I notice. We all tend to learn our strengths and capitalize on them to make a first impression, hoping maybe to start a conversation. I happen to be a good flirt. It opens some doors for me and then its up to me to make sure I follow up with more than vapid one-liners.

If you felt he was worth hiring over the other qualified candidates, it might be worth working with / training him. Consider buddying him with your oldest engineer. If he's got anything on the ball he'll adjust and tone down his youthful exuberance and need to prove himself. Give him a special project that gives him the opportunity to be recognized for his work while keeping him so busy he doesn't have time to bug others. Just a couple of thoughts on this.

And there is merit in having a fresh approach occasionally, balanced with a mature, experienced one. In the business world, as in life. As far as mindless flirting goes, personally, I like puns, wit,humor, intelligence along with my "wow, what's under that towel" drivel that I can get into as well as anyone else, especially late night. First thing my husband was attracted to when he met me was my tits, my eyes, and my brain. Not necessarily in that order, but he saw me first before he talked to me. He is still quite attracted by my brain. He is also dressing as a zombie this week for a party. Should be interesting. What's fun in here is the banter, the exchange of info, and then when it gets too heady, someone like Akron will pop off a one liner and change the momentum. Makes it interesting. A good mish mash. And an opportunity for me to use the phrase mish mash.
