Already been there and done that. Owned an on-premise place in Phoenix Arizona for 5 years. 87-92. We were BYOB, nice dance area, private areas, quiet areas, hot tub, pool table, discreet location, reasonably priced and overall a great place to hang.

However, what we found during this endeavor was, that if you did something to make one couple happy, you made others mad. The music was never right, too loud, too soft, too fast, too slow, too happy, not enough blues. The buffet we put out for free, was great, terrible, okay, needed this or that, too fattening, too salty, not salty enough, lacked lobster, you name it. Our party rooms were fantastic, too bright, too dim, wrong scented candles, too many mirrors, not enough mirrors, etc. The Jacuzzi was another source of frustration, too hot, not hot enough, too much chlorine, not enough chlorine. Starting to see a trend here???

We love the lifestyle, but after owning a club, you find out it's really tough to have a nice place that most will enjoy, and still be able to put a few bucks in your pocket. No sooner after receiving a complement on somthing you did, you will hear a complaint about the same thing in no time. It really is a tough experience! We were open 4 nights a week, two of which Wed and Sun we allowed single guys, don't even get me going on that fiasco.

One of the best things we experienced was a group/voyeur room. It had several mattresses in the center of the room. Surrounding the play area was different types of seating on 2 levels for watching the action in the center. People were playing in the center but you could play while watching. It was kind of like stadium seating. Very cool room to be in.

1.Ample bathroom, locker room facilities with decent and plentiful towels.

2. Firepit and outdoor smoking area.

3. Sufficient wastebin so people have a place to dispose of used equipment.

4. A really good buffet.

I imagine some sort of Morrocan inspiried room with lots of velvet cushiony seats, candles and those flowing curtain/canopy things that you could draw for privacy.

I'll start things off with these:

1) A "quite" place to talk with a nice close atmosphere with room for a handful of couples. Preferably with a speaker that allows you to hear what the DJ/Host/M.C. is saying on the mic. so while it's quite you're still aware of what's going on in the "main room" and you don't have to yell over the music

2) Pool tables - Not everyone likes to dance all night long and it's nice to have something else to do

3) Places to "hide" - Let's face it.. sometimes you just want 5 minutes alone with your other half to talk about something without being approached by someone. I'm not sure how this would work, but it would be nice.

4) Dimmer switches! Why are we always looking for our socks in total darkness? They're black! lol

I have a TON of others to add, but lets see what everyone else comes up with :)

We often hear people say they like various swing clubs for various reasons, but what we hear even more is what people DON'T like about a club.

Soooooo... what if you could build a club; what would it have to keep everybody happy? Let's see if we (the people who go to them) can collectively come up with the perfect club. Who knows? Someone might even build it :)

Please try not to post ideas more than once to keep this thread interesting to read.
