User Details are only visible to members.	Scandle, We (answering very cautiously) have. When we were newbies it was shown to us and we have used it on a couple of dates with newbies. With experienced playmates it's not necessary. We have very little time to play and have stated in our profile and discussed in either email or IM's that if there is enough chemistry to move forward that everyone should be prepared to play on the first date.

User Details are only visible to members.	always, is that the method you use? When we meet people for a meal, we always let them know that all parties can discuss it privately and later decide whether to get together again. A second date means we're moving forward.

User Details are only visible to members.	We prefer weeknight drinks or coffee as a first meeting. It is fast and easy with no ambiguity about the potential for play and not a huge time commitment. We don't need a "code word" to let the other know our feelings about the people we are meeting and that red chip/green chip system is absurd. I can immediately tell how Mr.Cincy feels about the couple or SM and vice versa.

Preferred Venue = coffee house, tea house ( for non drinkers & costs are lower if that's an issue) Local sports bar "off hours" ( less noise and distraction) If things are on the positive side and no one indicates a disconnect. Ask if they want to play a game. Always intriguing (in a public place) Then pull out the game and see where it goes.

User Details are only visible to members.	We prefer meeting over lunch or dinner for a first date. Since we don't drink alcohol, the bar scene doesn't appeal. We go for upscale casual food, but it must be a location that allows for private conversation without yelling and straining to hear over ambient noise. We've also met and then played with people at hotel takeovers after getting to know them a bit. At least at the hotel takeovers you don't have watch what you say like you do at vanilla settings.

User Details are only visible to members.	I know of some couples using the anonymous "black ball' method. All green tokens = play 1 red token = no play I descenting vote and it's a no go. Best of all for the faint hearted no pressure!

User Details are only visible to members.	We're comfortable regardless where we are, though prefer not particularly loud places. Ideal first meet? we all click. The last couple that we met was in Manhattan at a cigar club. We had a blast, but we were not a good match.

Ideally, at a party or meet and greet, where if we find them uninteresting (or they find us uninteresting) we can go our separate ways without feeling obligated to ride out some time. If we're meeting a couple out one-on-one, it's usually drinks at a Chilis or something. Casual but not loud. Sometimes we'll invite people to come along when we go see a band. But of course, that'll be loud.

As I was reading the thread "Dressing for a Playdate" it was very apparent that there are many different opinions as to what constitutes an ideal first meeting or date. Our preference is to meet couples at places like sports bars where we can have a drink and play a game of pool or darts, or upscale lounges where we can easily sit and talk. On the opposite side of the coin, sitting through dinner on a "blind date" just seems awkward to us, regardless of the restaurant's star rating. I think the act of sitting at a table to eat makes us feel trapped and we can't make an easy escape if things are not going well. So how would you describe your ideal first meeting or date with a new couple you've not met in person before? Would you preference be in an upscale or very laid back venue?
