I am sad that my 15 year old honda accord is on its last leg. Parts are starting to break although nothing critical yet. I have enjoyed not having a car payment after we paid off the Ford. I despise car shopping and I will put it off as long as possible.

Va- Those are the exact problems I have with the X5. I have a business card stuffed in the sunroof of a ridiculously expensive car. It makes me angry every time I have to climb in the back and adjust it.

NaN- I've already said you were right: I loved the Audi as soon as I stepped on the gas. It is the principle of the matter. The sticker prices on the two vehicles as well as the features are very, very close. I feel like Audi should match my BMW customer loyalty pricing. And the are cherry Tootsie Pops.

I was sooo happy to sell our BMW.

The drawer never stayed shut and I had to replace the brakes or brake pads almost every year. I drove another car for 12 years and replaced the brake pads once, so no, it wasn't my driving no matter what they said. I replaced the transmission too. I will never forget how it used to stall after driving 10 feet- just enough power to put you into the street or intersection. We took it to be repaired dozens of times. They could not find anything wrong. After having it stall after I pulled in front of a bus, I refused to get in it ever again.

It may have just been a lemon - but never again.

*Sed- Have you driven one yet? The smaller Range Rover rode a bit rough for me. It felt a little JEEP-like. *

Yes. I like how rough it is. I am incredibly attached to my old Benz. Knock wood, the car does not rattle, does not have any issues other than regular maintenance. Granted, a gas hog and maintenance is quite expensive, but that's the price that you pay when you buy German engineering.

we have friends who have had his and hers BMW's for years. Last year they traded in their almost new BMW's for Audi's because they were both disappointed with many things about the BMW. Don't ask me which models though, I suck at car details.

speaking of sucking...I'm thinking a different flavor then cherry.

Don't get me wrong - we love the car in many other ways. We just think these are things we should not have to put up with in a car like this.

I think a 9 month old car shouldn't have the sunroof noticeably rattling. The tailgate goes through fits of refusing to stay down (after you've walked away) when you close it via the lock button. The rear seat's lock is busted and needs to be fixed. The radio lacks skip function. The navigator is years out of date.

The fact that the service dept is the best thing you can say about a dealership should tel you something.

Get the Audi!!! Not sure what the $ difference is but after owning one BMW (after two Audi's) I am happlily back in the Quattro family. Would you buy a different bourbon just because it was on sale or pay a little more for your favorite?

So Mr. Leeza, you shattered that poor guys confidence just days before the tournament? At least tell me you hustled a couple hundred while you were at it. :-D

Any room in your suitcase Mrs. Frnz? I need a vaca!!
