Original Starting post for this thread:
Tis the season for some people to get worked up over the statement of happy holidays. I never understood why people have an issue with it.

A friend on FB said: "Because they aren't happy if they aren't controlling other people's lives perhaps??? ....and guilting them is a passive/aggressive means of control?? as much as I hate the term passive/aggressive."

Hanukkah was not really a big holiday until Christmas came around and the Jewish kids felt left out...

Wonder if anyone ever said to Jesus, "Dude, bummer, your birthday is so close to Hanukkah, that sucks!" ?

I also have a very large brisket, in the freezer, just dying for a party!

I actually like the term Happy Holidays, since there are many holidays being celebrated at the same time no matter what your religion you most likely are celebrating at least two.

Carrie, I might be involved in a business venture that's going to be taking me to Corpus a whole lot quite soon. I'll know in the next 90 days or so.

I have had people tell me Happy Hanukkah and I return with Merry Christmas. No big deal. They are Jewish and I am not. No one gets mad and everyone leaves with a smile, on their face.

I don't either, but I've had several times been told, What's wrong with Merry Christmas. Some people get upset.
