Original Starting post for this thread:
Tis the season for some people to get worked up over the statement of happy holidays. I never understood why people have an issue with it. A friend on FB said: "Because they aren't happy if they aren't controlling other people's lives perhaps??? ....and guilting them is a passive/aggressive means of control?? as much as I hate the term passive/aggressive."

"Happy Holidays" is excellent because it covers: Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, New Years and whatever other options are available for this time of year:)

Hanukkah was not really a big holiday until Christmas came around and the Jewish kids felt left out...

Wonder if anyone ever said to Jesus, "Dude, bummer, your birthday is so close to Hanukkah, that sucks!" ?

I also have a very large brisket, in the freezer, just dying for a party!

I smile at people anyway usually, especially during the holidays and I often express "Happy Holidays" Or "Merry Christmas" to complete strangers always with a smile whether I am initiating or returning the greeting. So far I have yet to receive any complaints:)

I actually like the term Happy Holidays, since there are many holidays being celebrated at the same time no matter what your religion you most likely are celebrating at least two.

Carrie, I might be involved in a business venture that's going to be taking me to Corpus a whole lot quite soon. I'll know in the next 90 days or so.
