The gift of time is a wonderful one, be it preparing a scrapbook or taking them for dinner to a favorite out of town restaurant or doing something with them at home. Spend time with them because they will appreciate it and you will cherish the memories when they are gone.

Scandle,

I read in another post that your Dad recently surrendered his car. Could you rent them a limo for a special night out or get them a gift certificate to a cab or driving service? We have one or two in the area that cater to seniors.

I would also like to congratulate you on having the courage to help your parents realize it was time to stop driving. I am currently arguing with a friend whose father still driving at 90 with narcolepsy.

S42 that was an amazing gift. Scrap books take so much time and so thoughtful. I am sorry to hear it was lost to Sandy......that is a treasured gift, one not easily replaced.

As I have been perusing profiles on here, I have noticed a plethora of single male Masseurs that will come to your house for free to give massages. You might check into that.

Or the old Choucho fallback of a Eureka 3-in-1 Stick Vacuum.

For my parent's 45th wedding anniversary. In addition to getting them a gift certificate to one of the nicest restaurants in Manhattan and tickets to see Jersey Boys. I made them a scrapbook. My memories of them, from the moment that I was born to present time.

My parents lost that scrapbook to Sandy, unfortunately. But my mother says that it was the nicest gift that they ever got from us.
