Stemming from another topic where someone posted what they do as part of their due diligence, prior to meeting other swingers. What do you do before meeting new potential fuck friends?

I also generally for first couple of meets don't give out any of our phone numbers, we use hubby's work phone, which is registered to a vendor that hubby deals with, so all that you'd be able to find is the vendor's name, a huge company with no one's name.

It is a tourist town, and victims were lmay or omay not have been swingers, (never can tell) but they were like me, a lone female running around the town at the time of their disappearance.

I am with those who like the club or a party, once the "kitchen pass" is secured from the Partner, "NSA Fuck and Go" at its best, what happens at the club, stays at the club! As a SF, strangers emailed me constantly wanting to come over to my house and fuck me since I must be a horny slut signed up on a sex website. Where I frequently played at and met people in past, more than one woman has disappeared only to turn up dead. As a SF, PERSONAL SAFETY was reason enough to screen alone and more important to me than a random sexual connection. Since I am part of a couple now, I let him handle the single males, I just enjoy fucking them. But we also have another reason to screen the locals in my home state. It is one of only a very few who have a little known law still in place - called alienation of affection. Might seem bizarre to some people, but in my line of work--I have seen it, it was sealed-- but it would have been a doozy. There is even a rather nasty one in the headlines of news up in the north. My point is, what if in the case of the one in the news, the "other party" was a SF or SM or part of a Couple on this website. We still have to screen locally, because I would not want to explain that to my children, would you? As recently as this past weekend, I was on the way to meet the SM who was intelligent, hot, pics made me want to jump his bones-- (he really looked alot like my partner is many ways) --- turns out, he is married. We did not meet, I told him to forget it when he admitted in email he was married and didn't want us to call. My screening may have saved me from embarassment, if his spouse ever catches him. Actually intellus will provide you the information for all other websites. Found that out after I looked up our names and our entire life history showed up. "what exactly are you looking to verify or protect yourself from?" Agree with it or not, we want to make sure that the people we meet are, within reason, who they say they are. I guess I'm like Nic, we meet people and go from there, we don't dig up info, even though we experienced similar crap from the same California troll and a few others as Nic has. Though I don't feel as creepy about it as I did when I read your initial post LWC, I still find it a bit unsettling that you do that, (as I'm certain MANY people do that as well). What is the purpose for looking such information up? what exactly are you looking to verify or protect yourself from?

My issue is with those who glean details here and there and then tie them together in an attempt to learn personal information. I had a member post inaccurate information about me that they discovered by making note that I was a runner and googled local road race results looking for anyone with my first name. THAT is not due diligence, that is just plain creepy! BTW, this person lived in CA and had no intention of meeting me. I know another poster who got an email telling her he had looked up her first and last name and found it because she had given information on the forums about where she works etc. Again, this is not someone looking to meet, just a stalker proving that he was able to use the internet to intrude into her personal life. My only due diligence in meeting new people is talking to them face to face and making my assessment based on intuition and experience.

User Details are only visible to members.	Curious why googling someone's name and a reverse phone lookup would be an unpleasant surprise? Why not use the internet to ground truth information provided by a total stranger you meet online? Doesn't always work but in a worse case scenario, may save someone an unpleasant meeting. FWIW, do a search of your names on google, spokeo, ppl, intellus, etc.. and see what pops up. You'd be shocked by all of the personal information readily available about you online.

Initially I was a bit, surprised, unpleasantly, but then I was wondering if perhaps it isn't such a bad thing for our own protection.
