At 22,500 miles, the top of the elevator is zipping along at 3000 miles per hour.
Hang on to your hat up there. |

This morning, while on a delivery, I had to use an elevator at a large casino/hotel. Had to wait while it returned from the 30th floor. Waiting waiting, then I suddenly think about this post. I thought about patiently waiting for the elevator to return from Robert Hill's planet Zagnut7, three galaxies away. Suddenly, waiting the return from floor 30 was finda funny to me.

* I think I could actually learn algrabra... I think. *
I would imagine that first, you'd have to learn how to spell *algrabra* correctly. |

So while trying to figure out the math for how large the warehousing needs to be for the space elevator, I have now learned some realistic limitations to our current cranes and shipping.
I am having fun trying to figure out how to move so much cargo vs size of facility. Now to figure how how much weight should each elevator lift be capable of vs how much weight each cargo containor should carry... Then how many containers per lift vs volume per lift. By the time I finally have this figured out... I think I could actually learn algrabra... I think. |

Instead of an elevator shaft going straight up, how about putting it at an angle? That way, people can just load up the ol' Vista Cruiser, and drive there! Maybe put a few rest stops on the way. Oooh! and one of those places with the big fiberglass dinosaurs!

Is it going to flip over if we as a society in America continue at our rate of obesity? Now I'm worried and not going to eat that second biscuit after all! ;) Do they make biscuits on other planets?

My favorite episode with Simon, was when he and Cad were drying up all the water........
I had to go to watch the episode. I love when he says "Simon says Dry UP!" |
