We are going to Hedo and the groups that are there that week are charging a lot more than booking from Hedo directly. It is a large gap about 25-30%. We were wondering if we are making a mistake by booking directly thru the resort? The groups seem to have their own schedules and activities. We've also seen reviews etc about various groups staying together and it being clique. We understand that could come from people whu have a hard time getting in the swing of things and we never have an issue at new club parties we go to in different areas. But fundamentally we'd hate to go down and not be able to meet others and have fun. So the question is: are we limiting ourselves if we book and go down without it being with a group?

User Details are only visible to members.	one group hedo Kumasatra is bringing in Nina Hartley of porn fame and an accomplished belly dancer for classes. So without a doubt there is some value there. Another group I'm not seeing anything in particular besides activity organization.

User Details are only visible to members.	Pandora and I went on our own, and while it wasn't /bad/ it did take a few extra days to get folks in a large group to warm up to us. Granted, we were only there 5 days, and we got there about 5 days into their trip, so that had a little something to do with it as well. Going for 10-15 days seems to be the critical mass point, and anything less than 4 is a waste of money unless you're a long term regular. Just my opinion. The only things you MIGHT miss out on are the private parties/events, the personal off-resort trips (catamaran tours, snorkeling trips, etc) and the play room/seminars that the trip sets up...Even though we weren't part of the group, we still got invited to tag along with them on certain things. Hell, we even won a gift certificate at one of their parties. It's all about the connections you make while you're there. If you're going/returning at the exact same time as a large group, I don't see how it could adversely affect you in the way you may think. Yeah, it's a little cliquey, but once the group realizes you're fun to be around, no one really notices whether you have a beaded necklace with your name on it or not. I'd be interested in finding out if the extra cost is inclusive of all the off-resort trips while you're there. If that's the case, I'd spend the extra unless you want to be left to yourselves for hours on end (which isn't a bad thing if you're into fucking anywhere on the grounds without an audience).
