Original Starting post for this thread:
Since retiring a few years back, I've taking on the grocery shopping and most of the cooking in the household. I went to our local supermarket doing the shopping thing when I came across a heated arguement with a male customer and the store's manager. From what I could gather from the screaming match the customer was upset because he couldn't find Manwich (yeah, I know, big catastrophe) but he went on to say that the store was not set up for men. Men think differently apparantly when it comes to food and where to find it. He said men don't think like women and items like BBQ sauce, Manwich mix and other things like that should be by meats. The deli and bakery should be combined. Frozen entrees (snicker) should be by vegetables, etc. etc.,.

Some of the women nearby tried to help him but he had no list. All he was going by was memory. It was later found that he never memorized anything because his wife did the shopping while he was at work. Now that he's unemployed he has to step up and be "Mister Mom".

Do all women who go thru drastic changes in the financial/homefront meet such stubborness? Or are we still feeling the effects of not only changing times in the workplace but in our homes as well? Is this a temporary occurrence or is it a thing to stay?

Is Mister Mom feeling emasculated or behind in the times?

Hey - I had to change the cat litter before leaving town for 4 nights, *AND* I had to get "supplies" for our weekend away with a girlfriend and at a club.

Just imagine what kind of freak buys 25 pounds of cat litter and 24 condoms at 5:30 AM. The kind that needs to change the litter and get condoms before headed to our Nation's Capital for a morning meeting, that's what kind.

One of the largest producers of condoms in the US (Church & Dwight Co.) also makes cat liter and they are both used with pussies, so seems like a good combination to me.

Grocery stores are set for profit. The highest profit items end up on outer walls, because they are least likely to be bypassed. Meat the most profitable is usually on the rear wall as that is passed every time a customer navigates another isle. Other than that the rest of the set is to keep customers in the store as long as possible. The longer a person is there the more a customer buys impulse items.

"I just randomly . . . pick out whatever pops into my head. That's pretty much my philosophy for all walks of life."

It's been noticed.

This morning at 5:30 AM I went into the grocery store and bought a giant box of cat litter and 2 boxes of condoms. I'm sure the clerk wondered WTF that was all about.

When I go to the grocery store, I just randomly walk up and down the aisles and pick out whatever pops into my head. That's pretty much my philosophy for all walks of life.

" I prefer Aldi "

hahaha! No thanks. They have some decent stuff, but it's not worth it in the end.

Suppliers pay handsomely to have their products at eye level in stores. The best priced items tend to be on the bottom shelf.

Special lights are used in meat cases to enhance the appeal of the shitty "choice" meat they sell.

Grocry shopping is a science. I prefer Aldi as they are no frills, decent quality and great prices.
