I have been looking online for stockade fencing and am wondering what the quality difference is between spruce and pine.

which one will last longer without warping or rotting ?

extreme climate conditions can and will wreck havoc on the vinyl

LOL. never have never will piss on a wire.

Vinyl looks nice but is a bit pricey and dont seem to hold up very well as I have seen many vinyl fences down in winter. dont know if its the cold or wind or shody installation.

I am talking decorative fence. When we get a horse ,then it will be wood.

I prefer either a split rail or Actually the Ten mile Training wire does a fine job..... mind you do not want to piss on the Training fence.....it will give you the what for LOL.

Spruce is the same as pine. We prefer the vinyl :)

The biggest issues with the pins is it will tednto bleed at the knotts so priming before painting will be amust and it could still bleed through. both woods tend to react the same with regards to deteriation if you are buying pressure treated sections of fencing you will not need to worry as to which will last longer

Thanks for the reply, the spruce is slightly cheaper than the pine that is why I was asking. you said spruce is a lot more....maybe in your area but not here....must be the availability I guess.

redwood is not available here at least from what I have seen but cedar is.
