Wish to thank everyone for their help on shaving my wife. Going to stay away from the NO NO as it appears not to work very well. Maybe I am trying to be to careful because I worry about nicking her (NOT GOOD) Again thank you all.

I had it done a few years ago. It decreased hair growth, but you will always require touch-ups. I haven't done that because my skin in that area got so dry and tight I would tear during sex. It took over 6 months for my skin to recover.

I had surgery a few weeks ago and have been letting what little hair I grow come back in mostly because it is hard to bend and twist the way I need to in order to shave it. I fully plan on shaving it off again once I'm cleared for sex.

Why not laser hair removal for women? Is cost the only objection or is there some other reasons (other than it's not working well for blond hair)?

Another shaving tip is to lightly use an abrasive bath sponge or loofa on the area for the next couple of days to help in avoiding pimples and ingrown hairs.

Open pores = easier way for STD virus to get into your body

So be careful.

Dumdave, there are many wrong ways to shave. Somewhere in the forums it was spelled out, but I'll try give you the basics as I remember and apply them:

1. If the person getting shaved has the time, soak the hairy area in a warm bath or hot tub before shaving. Otherwise, a hot shower works. Wash the area first, then shave. 2. For best results, use a brand new razor with multiple blades. (A side tip - to extend the life of the blades, rinse them well and dry them before storing.) 3. Apply either shaving gel or hair conditioner on the hair. Shaving gel works better than shaving cream to soften the hair. 4. Always, and I mean ALWAYS shave in the direction of the hair growth. You may need to pull the skin taught while you shave, but do NOT go against the normal growth pattern. If you do, you will end up with ingrown hair and pimples. Trust me on this. ;-) 5. It might be advisable to repeat the shaving process before drying off. This will get more of the hair that you might have missed the first time. 6. When done shaving, wash the area with soap or shower gel. 7. For best results, shave every time you bathe or shower. If you make it routine, you will always be ready for fun! 8. Avoid going in a pool or hot tub for several hours after shaving since the pores are still open and can become slightly infected.

Good luck!

Ah ok... Thx for the correction. I googled it and consumer report website does not recommend it.

apparently some can use the no-no with no problems. my lady is not one of them and says the commercial that claims it is painless is bullshit.

we chose laser hair removal and absolutely love it. that's why shesmooth. :)

ps. I don't think the no-no has a problem with hair of any certain color because it is literally just pulling the hair out. laser treatment however is not recommended for ladies with light colored body hair. the laser just doesn't seem to effect blonde hair for some reason.

I heard mixed reviews on that. But definitely not for light haired peopled, like blondes for example.
