User Details are only visible to members.	I have learned to be my OWN physician, to the maximum extent I can. Before I go to a doctor, I do as much research as I can to inform myself, form some ideas of what may be wrong, and develop a bunch of questions to ask the doc. My docs almost cringe now when they see me coming! LOL Anyway, I am always informed enough to tell them what I THINK is the problem, and why, and to ask them to explain to me why they think it's what THEY think it is, and why they are choosing a particular treatment option as opposed to an alternative. I then ask "what's the next step if this doesn't fix things?" I don't ever leave without having discussed and formed a plan to deal with whatever's ailing me including next steps. I don't get yanked around much anymore. I've even been known once to inform a doc that "Hey, you work for ME! I'm paying for this, and I'm paying you as a consultant. So sit down and consult with me until I'm satisfied!" It seems to me, though, that I've noticed a change in attitudes by physicians - at least the younger ones (say, 40s and under). It used to be that doctors treated us as if we were idiots and acted like they were God Almighty. Lately they seem very friendly and open to discussion of anything I have questions about. Maybe medical school is teaching them differently about patient relationships. Whatever the cause, I like it.

Now they tell us that test ain't worth a hoot. The same folks once told us eggs were good for you. Then they said eggs were bad for you. Then they said the whites are good and the yolk is bad. User Details are only visible to members.	Fun, Same experience here, cept it was my first prostrate exam. No warnin cept drop 'em and bend over. I wasn't havin difficulties either, except for the "jitters" in swing situations. One time I failed to rise to the occasion, I felt so bad for lettin the gal down that I made sure it would never happen again. Those little blue pills are my erectile insurrance, well worth what I had to go through to get them. Also the peace of mind knowin my prostrate is fine. As far as cost goes, my doc gives me enough samples that I rarely have to actually buy any. Mike

User Details are only visible to members.	I thought it would be fun to hop onto the Viagra wagon, too. I was not having problems, but at 50 years old I could easily 'fake' an occasional ED problem just to get the prescription. SO . . . . I go to my regular doctor (a woman) and tell her I have an OCCASIONAL problem and I would like to see if Viagra would work for me. She tells me 'sure, I'll write a prescription' and I am thinking 'this was easy.' But then she says 'Before I do, I need to give you a prostate examination.' She calls a nurse into the exam room and tells me to bend over the table while she is lubing up a gloved finger with KY. At that point it is WAY to late for me to recant. I find myself is this awkward position with the nurse watching and the doctor's finger up my ass making investigative movements and wanting to kick my own stupid ass for even making the request. She finishes the exam and THEN tells me I have to go to the lab and have blood work done to check my testosterone levels. Talk about adding insult to injury. I know I have to get the blood work done so I don't have to listen to her harp on me the next time I see her. I get the script filled and everyone of those little blue pills is priceless to me. Friends would ask for one and I would tell them 'Not on your life. YOU go get a finger shoved up your ass and blood work done and see if you will share them.' If I had it to do all over again, I would buy them overseas, or in Mexico, or not buy them at all. But, I'd never fake an ED problem. -Mr. Fun
