I guess I'm just looking for that illusive "secret handshake" signal that someone is a swinger, or available, whatever secret message. This lady and I are former co-workers and still friends and we sometimes share sexy jokes and sexual inuendo. But I don't want to risk our vanilla friendship with a misguided inquiry about swinging.

I just noticed yesterday that a vanilla married lady friend of mine is wearing a thumb ring on her left thumb. I is just a plain silver ring. No design or stone. She wears a wedding ring on the traditional finger and a couple other rings on other fingers. I have heard that thumb rings mean something but I don't know what.
