| We would like to do a weekend retreat type of get away and thought beach combing for sea shells by day would be a fun thing. Would anyone have info on good places to look, stay, enjoy the sun on the Texas Gulf Coast? Best affordable lodging and night life places as well? From Texas here, but a longggg way from the coast. In need of sun, its been a long winter. Thanks in advance and warmest regards, Mick & Deb aka: Ward and June Cleavage |

Mick and Deb,
I agree about Padre Island. I grew up close to the Galveston area and been up and down the coast line there. You will most likely be very disappointed in that direction. Padre Island is very nice and the beaches are a lot cleaner and nicer with less jelly fish. I've always found an abundance of different type seashells there. This time of year the rates are lower over there. HUgs! RaveN ( :~ |

You are planning on going in the winter and not in the hot humid summer right?

Mick & Deb...
If you haven't already, check out the groups and join one that is from that area. Also, try contacting someone from the area. We have people contact us for info about Dallas area clubs. One more suggestion, check out the club listings...just click on the "Clubs" link on the left side of the page. Heather |

We've always had fun in Corpus Christi and Padre Island. We left our mark on the Holiday Inn there.
