Beans, potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, celery, broccoli, eggplant, ..., but above all, okra. Lots of okra. I just find that name so sexy...

I have a pop-up greenhouse on my back porch for the winter,so I get a head start w/ my veggies and flowers.By mid April my cucumbers are abot 18" high and starting to flower.Having only a small area for veggies,I grow everything on tomato cages. For cantaloupe,I use netting and zip strips to hold the weight of the fruit.Slugs were a problem until I put "landscape fabric(rougher side up)around my plants and sprinkled a fine amt of sand on top(they won't crawl across it)Fabric also helps to keep the weeds out and moisture in.

I think your answer lies in asking yourself, "What would Martha Stewart do?" ;)
