Likewise, Hell need not be thought of as a place. I have heard it described as 'separation from God'. Not being a believer myself, I won't weigh in.

Although this joke has been around for quite some time, and is pretty funny, as a chemist I need to poo-poo it. A *process* or reaction can be described as exothermic, not a place. One could ask "is the process of concentrating souls in hell exothermic or endothermic?".
