We started a group of our own. We meet once a month with other couples who's female is a bi. we have a blast at these things. we call them bar meets. Its so hard to meet people, the net makes it easier. but still its hard to move from chatting on the net and playing e-mail tag to meeting some one. Most people like to drink to break the ice, so meeting at bars helps allot. This month we will be meeting at a casino. We rented 2 rooms for people who live a little far and need a place to sleep. So what do you do to meet others in your area? How do you make the transaction from net friends to play mates? or real friends? Have any horror stories? Any good stories to share?

Where is that? we are very new to this, have chatted and mailed many, met only a couple and really want to get going in this new lifestyle we've found out about. We are very social people, outgoing, drink socially, don't smoke but can toleratie some, though he is allergic to it, so, give me a hint and some help here, okay? we will appreciate it. oh, we are in illinois, nothern ill.

You just made it a little more funner. we love the idea of posting greet and meets here. what better way to let everyone know from your area that there is a place to meet. we have just started doing that with our local yahoo group and now here as well. one of the big reasons we joined this group was because of the number of people that live in our area on this site. We agree with the idea of meets being held at bars and restaurants that have bars. it does relax people and we tried meeting at a other type of location but found that it was difficult because there were under 18 around. so thats why bar meets are better. It is so important to take that step of moving from the net to the real world. If you don't your missing so many opportunities to meet people. Mark

I've been meeting folks (of all types not just swingers) for around 10 years, and I was my gf's first person she meet from the 'net. (guess she liked me, we've been together for almost 4yrs). Since then, we usually meet folks in a nice pub or dinner place that serves drinks. Only once have we ever meet someone in our home for initial contact. He lived in our neighborhood and is a professional, so we felt it ok - but we discussed it for some time. Its not unusual for us to bring others back to our place on a first night, but before leaving the pub we inform everyone its for more socializing NOT necessarily sex. We feel we're pretty good at compatibility matching - if its not there, we do let whoever know. We've also gone to a few of 'their' places afterwards and have never been disappointed.

A couple of 'security' rules that should be heeded: 1 - ALWAYS meet for the first time in a public location. 2 - Let some one know when you should be expected back. 3 - Be aware that no matter how comfortable you feel with some one online - you DO NOT know who they are in real life - stay alert. 4 - Do not drive straight home from a meeting, especially if it didnt go well. Go to a mall, see a movie, visit a friend - you get the point. 5 - Don't leave your drink unattended, even if there is 2 of you. Aside from the above (sorry for the paranoidness), meeting folks from the internet is a great experience. I've been doing it for 10 years - and have never meet anyone that made me glad i subscribed to the above rules. We actually meet over the internet, and we meet new folks all the time - but please put safety first, you may not have a second chance. Zig

We tried having some bar meets ourselves and they were going good, but then we moved and are now too far from any bar worth doing it at. Now that the forums are more useful, I hope more meeting like this can help everyone out.
