I was reading another thread and it was about a couple that made an appointment and ended up a no-show. They were automatically labeled flakes. Since I know from personal experiences in life that there can be many legitimate reasons why people don't show up; there are accidents; sudden illnesses or other emergencies that take immediate and full priority over other things. If it happened to me/us, I would first look at their profiles again; long time with SLS or newbees? certified? etc. Those things would tell me something; and they sounded legit in a call and/or emails, I would call or write and ask if everything was OK. And of course, if something happened and we didn't show up (or knew we wouldn't be there, we would call and at least give a reason. What kind of experiences have you had and what did you do? Thanks. User Details are only visible to members.	What she said! LOL! We very rarely go out of our way to meet an online couple, whether they have certs or not. Since we're out almost every Friday and Saturday nights, it's never a problem for people who really want to meet us to do so. Our preference is actually to meet people at lifestyle clubs so if they don't show (which has happened a LOT), we have an entire club of prospects! Nowadays, though, we don't have such clubs and we're at a bit of a loss on how to play the game. As far as the original question goes, if they don't show without notice, we won't ask twice. If they bail at the last minute, we won't ask twice. One thing we never do is beg anyone to meet us. By dropping your expectations to zero, and not going out of your way, you'll never be disappointed. We learned all that the hard way. We pride ourselves on never bailing when we give our word that we'll be somewhere. It would take something way beyond unusual for us to bail on a couple at the last minute. Good luck!

User Details are only visible to members.	That's why we meet for the first time in a public setting, someplace we don't mind going to by ourselves, so it doesn't matter so much if you get stood up. Our first meet w/ a couple recently was supposed to be at the Home and garden show...hahahaha...yeah yeah, ok, not so sexy, is it? But they had family situation come up and declined, so no big deal. We were there anyway, and had fun by ourselves (which is a key thing to us). We tentatively set another date and met at a club, had a great time, made some good new friends and will meet them again soon. So, we don't worry about b/c we don't set ourselves up for any type of disapointment.

An hour before the time I texted them just to be sure, and they promptly responded that the husband was sick. Well they could have let us know that earlier, but no big deal. We replied that we understood. They then explained that he was actually very hung over. Hmmmmm..... Had to be true, who would make that up?

We were all ready to go.We were just waiting on a call from this couple telling us they were home from the shore. My husband had worked that day so he was taking a nap.It was getting late, I was up cleaning all day so I had layed on the couch with my cell by my head. I never heard them call. I felt so bad. Needless to say they were not happy. We were told that we were the first people to stand them up. Believe me it was not intentional. We did get to meet them several times later on. It just became a joke after awhile. They had been good sports about it. We felt so bad. Things happen. Babysitters cancel, people get sick, cars crap out. Calling someone just shows common courtesy .If you can not do that, you should not be expect that other person/s to ask to meet you again. Such is life.

User Details are only visible to members.	Vabeach I rarely like to lump people together into a group but in this case I can with clear conscience....lol Our experience with couples has been great. Couples that we set up to meet ALWAYS show up. On very rare occasion a couple will cancel a meet but its usually with ample notice, or at least they go out of their way to make sure that they make actual contact with us to cancel. Where we find the problems are with single men. Again, I hate to put them all in one group but our experience has been that no matter how long we have chatted etc. online......When we set up to meet a single guy there is an 80% chance that meeting wont happen. He will either not show at all. Or will cancel last minute with a lame BS excuse. For years we have wondered why and still dont have the answer. Couples always show Single guys almost always flake. For as much as single guys complain that "nobody wants them" you would think it would be different. But as a couple that DOES want single men. Its honestly much much harder to get one than you would think.

It makes me wonder what it is that some people do to attract flakes (or what we do to repel them). Not that we haven't had some flakes - but our proportion seems lower than most - we've met some people who say we are the first people they've actually met in a long time of searching and having flake after flake after flake - and I'm not talking about ultra-homely people here - normal, attractive and nice people who just cannot figure out how to find actual swingers on here.
