Give it some time before making a decision to let the whole idea go ... since it seems you both really do want to enjoy the lifestyle! I think you will find a way to figure out what's really going on with alot of communication.

I also don't really see the connection between locale and red herring and when I looked it up, it has just confused me more. (below is just the first paragraph of the red herring definition) I think you gave him good advice if you read him right. I was just trying to see it myself. -Locale : a place or locality especially when viewed in relation to a particular event or characteristic 2 : site, scene <the locale of a story -A red herring is a clue which is intended to be misleading, or distracting from the actual issue.[1] For example, in mystery fiction, where the identity of a criminal is being sought, an innocent party may be purposefully cast in a guilty light by the author through the employment of deceptive clues, false emphasis, "loaded" words or other descriptive tricks of the trade. The reader's suspicions are thus misdirected, allowing the true culprit to go (temporarily at least) undetected. A false protagonist is another example of a red herring.

This reluctance on your part based on such a notion is a red herring unless you were planning to have sex on Main Street under the traffic light. You need to figure out what your fear is really about and whether you can handle reality or whether fantasy is the place to leave your swinging. Some common "reasons" men fear the reality of swinging: 1) Wife will fall for the other guy 2) Wife will like fucking him better 3) His dick will be bigger 4) My dick won't get hard for the other woman I'm sure there are plenty of others. Figure out what your fears are and address them. Your wife knows you better than you know yourself. Ask her to help you.
