We are finding an interesting contradiction between SLS and the club scene. We are not the traditional "HWP" but we get a fair share of first contacts as well as responses to our emails. What is most interesting though is that certain folks turn us down or just don't respond on SLS, but similar people will approach us first at the local club. As the male half of the couple, I've been invited to play frequently in clubs, but virtually never on SLS. When we go to clubs, we go as a couple, but don't always remain in the same areas. Looking for thoughts on what we see as an odd contradiction. THANKS

User Details are only visible to members.	Passionaseekers, thanks for the followup post. We've heard good things about Trinos, and used to go to Faces with a group of gay friends years back. I'm straight as a board, but still had a good time among friends. Is Faces still a gay club? Its been awhile. I think you are correct about the swingers taking a vote and deciding to open up shop in Sac. Its like gas stations over here, one on every corner...lol. I think my wife is afraid of the bay area scene after a bad experience at the Exotic Erotic Ball a few years ago. Though, thats not really a fair comparison, since lifestyles folks know about boundaries, and EEB folks often think its a free for all. Thanks again for all the replies.

We had very good success meeting like minded attractive couples on this site thru profiles and a few emails, some just for drinks and others have turned into more imitate encounters .We enjoy clubs but when we go to a club venue we go strictly to dance laugh and have fun and perhaps meet people we might like to see in the future.On a very rare occasion a club night and a play night will actual blend. Both options work it just depends where you feel most comfortable. Mrs Sav

User Details are only visible to members.	Oh, I was just kidding. We party in Sac often. Have had some of the best and worst experiences in Sac. But that can be said for anywhere. :-) Being that you are new to the scene, you may throw a line into other pools nearby. Take advantage of our location ( SF isn't too far from you, Sac's 1.5 hours from us so we usually stay overnight.) and venture into different atmospheres. Each club, each party, even if geared towards the same activities will have different vibes. And even if some of the same people are there, the hosts and their attentiveness really set the tone. Because we're in the middle, we get invites to South Bay and North Bay often. We primarily stick to Sac area because of the volume of options. Man, did all the swingers consult one another and move that way? :-) Trino's seems to always be fun, but small. And 'Faces' was entertaining.

User Details are only visible to members.	Thanks for all the replies. As you can see, we are pretty new members to SLS, so I really appreciate the feedback. Sounds like my thinking is pretty much on par. My wife and I connect with people in person really easily. And in person everyone who meets me, also meets my wife, so they know for certain that I'm not the single male, or the guy who is straying. The same is true if someone meets her, she makes sure they meet me (sometimes to the frustration of the other party..lol) Passionseekers, I see you are in Concord so you know NorCal. Not sure if you are making a lighthearted jab at Sac, or saying its good to play here. We've met a lot of bay area couples who come to Sac looking for a different scene, we haven't really partied in the bay area, so I guess we wouldn't know the difference. And I guess this goes back to the point that was made in this same post...in print, you often can't tell the intent of a comment. In person its much easier through body language, a nice smile, or an infectious laugh. Thanks everyone!

For one thing, if a person has a more dry personality or sense of humor, I often misinterpret that as a person being an asshole or condescending. Pics as well...I have met people who are not photogenic, so I was really thinking ummm, not. And then we meet and its quite the opposite.

User Details are only visible to members.	I've always thought that a face to face meeting is preferrable. If it's at a club or a bar or at a party. There are some things you can do on these forums, but I'd rather I meet someone in person. It gives me and them a better read on those intangables you can't get on the forum or an email.

I would almost say that experience is universal, (for those who have tried both avenues) Whether its the fact that personality plays such a huge part in attraction and is so difficult to showcase in an electronic format, or the time/effort commitment variation between a face to face club atmosphere and the long drawn out process via simple emails/chatting: clubs are a huge part of the process and make those day/week/month long vetting processes of people of interest reduce to trivial amounts of time. -M
