Not long after we got married, she found she was having "feelings" for a male friend and was scared to death that I would freak out, but honesty being important, she brought it up. I didn't freak out, and instead said it was totally normal to have such feelings and that far from bothering me, I thought it was a good thing. That led to discussions of polyamory and swinging, and an open relationship. As it ended up, she was the first to play with someone else -- that same friend. The way things have played out she is more on the polyamory end of the spectrum and really only interested in emotional relationships that may include sex. I like that too, but am more open to casual relationships. Anyway, these things can develop lots of different ways. -Steve

We went to clubs and some house parties just before joining this site. We are still trying to define ourselves. But there are many really nice people here and we're starting to truly understand what "friends with benefits" means. We dont' swing often anymore due to work schedules and such but we enjoy a good party for halloween or getting together wiht other couples. any more it's a social event for us. but if we find someone that interests us... well everythign is on the table. I guess it was her idea... i'm not really sure. I'm a good irish catholic boy... so i'm sure i wouldn't have had the idea first.

I (husband) brought up the idea of a possible MFM to my wife about 3 years ago, at the time she looked at me like I was crazy and thought I was only trying to get her to do it so I could eventually have other women for myself...which btw, was never the intention. I never pushed the idea but would just bring it up every few months or so, I even bookmarked a few websites for her to check out if she ever decided to look into it...which she never did. We still get a kick out of our vanilla friends when they see us together, they just can't seem to understand how we can still be so much in love after all these years and so touchy feely with each other...I just smile and say "she's fuggin hot, I can't help it" lol On a side note, after a few months SHE was the one to suggest we look into possibly getting with another couple..hell she has even gone as far as making out with the other women...Life is good :)
