Who in your relationship brought up the idea of swinging? When it was brought up what was the reaction? How did they bring it up? How long did it take for you to act on it as a couple? A lot of questions I know but I am just interested on how everyone else got started

User Details are only visible to members.	I (the husband) brought it up. Had whimsically made comments, taken tongue in cheek, for years. Did light role playing along the lines of alternate lovers too. Since we still looked good (and she wanted to do nudist things anyway) and were very sexually capable, I decided to pursue it in earnest. Went to a local meet and greet, to make sure the folks were as I expected (normal), rather than creepy, and to ask the questions that would be our concerns (STIs and discretion). Since it looked fine, I decided to bear out my fantasies and my desire to do this LS thing. The initial shock of the revelation became fairly irrelevant as things evolved quickly. It was taken seriously and we discussed what might be fun to consider and, of course, the issues of safety. I have to say that the weeks that followed included the most and best sex (surpassing the early dating ad marriage stuff) of our lives together. Some people who just dive right in apparently have similar sex with each other after their first LS experiences. Set up accounts at these online places and made plans and rules. There have been the occasional deal killer worries about catching herpes and similar. But were committed to two things: (1) really giving the LS a sincere shake to see if it is for us a great augmentation to our lives, and (2) play to our mutual comfort -- it's about fun and only if it is fun for both of us. I am absolutely glad I brought it up. Not just for the fantastic sex since then. But we have hit a core level of personal honesty that has vastly improved our marriage connection, after many years. I was not expecting my wife to admit that she would love to do this for recreation and to build a deep social life. It could have gone so many other ways, and has undoubtedly for other couples. But you either have to jump in the pool or wonder how great it would be to swim.

We were both already pretty active LS members when we met I was simply an adventurous SF who went to Memphis for a vacation of "blues, booze, bbq and bedsports." A mutual friend gave me the name of a guy that I should meet in Memphis who "knew everybody", not a profile name either - just a first name. WTF what was I supposed to do with that - most people don't have their real names and the friend had conveniently gone traveling abroad(didn't answer cell). I am a doer by nature and decided to wing it on my own, moved my profile a week ahead and opened pictures to 3 SM's that caught my eye.... and waited, as a rule I don't email SM's. Sure enough 2 of the 3 contacted me and made M/G dates along with a few couples that emailed and I communicated with and agreed to m/g at club and another public venue. I was very excited to be indulging in a long weekend of debaunchery and wicked fun away from home after a rather rough period. What about that 3rd SM? Oh yes, well a couple of days before I was to drive up, I went in to close my previously opened pictures and found that He had opened all of his pictures. I was curious as to why he had not emailed if he was interested, in my experience SM's always mailed even the ones you wish hadn't. In glancing through those certs -- I came across one that began with his initial - and I deduced that he was likely the one my friend had told me about - some profile content matched a snippet of a particular conversation I had with my friend and based on that recommendation and the 1 cert, I carefully considered and composed an email and sent it off. Shortly thereafter, he replied and we had what I assumed would only be a weekend m/g and date. Lots of people commonly say, see you soon or 'see you next time", as I did. After all, I do live a couple of hours away and really had no expectations of future involvement. So I was sort of surprised that he actually contacted me right after I got home and we kept in touch and very soon had a second date -- actually sooner than I have had second vanilla dates occur. A couple of years ago, having recently started dating, Katy Perry was singing a song while we were waiting for previews at a movie theater. He asked jokingly if I'd ever kissed a girl and liked it, as another of her songs famously mentioned, and I said that yes, in fact I had! Mr. was quite intrigued, and that led me to mention some other things that turn me on, and the rest is history. Through lots of talking we have figured out what we want, and through talking and experiences we know what we like, so we have a hell of a time doing those things when we can manage it :-)

The reason we decided to do it was we both felt like we needed more.
