We seem to be in the land of house parties, Southern California. There's a house party ( or 5) EVERY weekend, just depends on how far you want to drive. Fortunately, our best friends invited us to a house party when we were newbies. We were wallflowers that night, but have settled in, become good friends with the hosts, and now we're welcome at almost any event they host. Just keep your eyes open, and joining a group with your interests never hurts!

we would agree with jim. smaller is better when you're just getting started. if you invite smokers, be sure you have a place for them to smoke. also, if you have areas in the home that would be off limits, BE SURE you mark those areas as such or lock the doors. if you have multiple rooms for play, you may want to designate "open" rooms and "closed" rooms especially if they are bed/bath suites. this way you can avoid losing restrooms when the shy folks want to close and lock the doors.

ONE, finding yourslef a nice little group for private house parties is wonderful. but you have to be patient. we were in the lifestyle almost a year and a half before we got to our first "invitation only" party.
and even though we will occasionally still do an "open" party, like this weekend's hallow-swing party, the private parties are by far our favorites. as someone else mentioned, keep an eye out on the hot date list. also, and i know some will go crazy when i suggest this, but we do know some very nice people who list their private parties on craigslist as well. good luck |

If you do go to the clubs, get some personal business type cards and put your info (either sls or personal) and when you chat with people give them one. Networking gives you many more options so that you have more to choose from. Here it seems like there are a bunch of house parties in a row, then nothing for awhile. It's all about networking though.

We would suggest looking at the hot dates section. You can often find some there if you look hard enough. You may also want to join some local groups and see if they offer any of them. Also the more friends you have the more parties you will be invited to, so be friendly!
We are going to one in Pittsburgh this Saturday, we would be happy to have you as our guests... we know it is a little far, grin. G and P |
