Funny you say that. I always ask when I make reservations if they have a good gym. They assure me they do and it always ends up being a couple broken treadmills and universal with half the cable gone.

Now I just find a real gym and get a guest pass.

Life schedules those for me. Travel, a weekend away.... I simply cannot workout at a hotel or resort, so that's when I take my breaks.

LOL. Sex can be pretty good exercise so feel free to count it.

I have to schedule a week off about every 4-6 months to let my body heal. I really hate those weeks I'm afraid I won't be able to start back. My eating usually goes to shit then too.

Well, you see - this is why I try so hard not to miss a day, even if I half-ass it. One missed day turned into 3. I'm back in now, but I fall out easily.

One of those days I had sex for about 3 hours so perhaps that day can be forgiven.

vabeach - never feel guilty for taking a rest day if you need it. And if you don't get a good night's sleep, that's your body telling you something. Same thing happened to me last night. No sleep. So I didn't workout today. Cause I didn't want to get hurt. Just adjust your schedule and move forward.

Hope you feel better today.

11:21 on 14.5. Key for me was smart pacing. I liked wearing my lifters as well.

Next up for me is a 35+ year old Masters Comp at the end of April. Then a physique show in May. Then frolicking nude all summer at Sunny Rest and PGC. The more the merrier!

Well, 14.5 didn't go as well as I thought. Turned out the thrusters weren't that bad. But did get wobbly quads. However, I think it was the bar over burpees that did it. Tried to keep a steady pace but found myself stepping down and halfway through was getting up on my knees instead of jumping up. Still got dizzy by round of 12. And my thrusters looked great on the video. 18:39 (was hoping to be 16, would have been happy with anything under 18). Nope, will not redo it. Not worth it (I should make top 200 in my division but not in the running to get to the Games this year....). After my spine surgery and recovery, I want to redo this just to get a PR next year, LOL! Next up - getting ready for the "virtual Master's regionals" in April.

Slept badly last night and skipped today. First workout I've missed in weeks. I feel antsy and guilty for missing it.

my WOD mostly consists of cardio and every day squats, plies, crunches to keep the legs in shape. most days crunches since i pledged to myself to get my midsection firmer again.

i have lifted, and trained. just don't have the time these days and frankly prefer more functional fitness. my favorite machines are those that approximate natural body movements. and a seated leg press rarely allows for the ROM i look to achieve so... squats do & are preferred by me. got hand weights & a couple of bars to supplement.

motivation was lacking for several weeks, life does get in the way. back at it now.

Yeah. Oh boy. 14.5 is gonna be all about how much pain and suffering you can handle. Burpees and thrusters. Mrs. S...great plan of attack. I'm going to steal your tip about knee sleeves for sure. I'm going unbroken on the thrusters. Smooth pace. And try to minimize my time under tension. Burpees will be at a 4 second per burpee pace. Last WOD for the open! Let's kill it. Currently in 127th in my region. -J
