I did rings for a while in high school. Now THERE is a terrific way to build incredible upper body power and control. The whole inverted pull up thing is easier than an actual pull up.

I've never tried a one arm pullup but doubt I could really. There was a guy in a gym I used to work out at that would turn up so his feet was pointed at the ceiling and do upside down pullups (lol I'm sure there is a real word for that).

I just about broke my neck trying to do that and never could do it right. It was fucking cool to watch though.

I seriously doubt I'd ever be strong enough to accomplish even one one-armed pullup. I would have to lose more weight and get much stronger still.

Doesn't mean I can't try, but I doubt it.

There is a woman in Planet Fitness who can do them like wow and she even does something with one hand. I watch her in amazement.

Takes a while to build up on pullups. Try holding that dumbell with your feet and dropping it for a few extra reps.

Part of my problem with pullups is that I'm just damn heavy. I can do 5 sets of 9 at this time, or 5 sets of 4 with a 25-pound dumbbell wedged between my legs.

Tomorrow, I am going to start the back routine of IFBB Pro Kai Green. My back has always been a weak point. Kai used to train at my Brooklyn gym but I never had a chance to meet him. This morning, while making my first breakfast, I started thinking about what it would be like to get in contest shape again.....I don't know. I feel I can do the diet; it's the cardio......
