Great so see you on the come back trail SVC. I know that had to be tough and its always hard when your training slumps and you struggle with what you used to take for granted. Careful with that back.

OT: 45 minutes of cardio, some squats, plies & crunches, and 30 minutes of yogahhhh. just finishing up. now for evening tea and sleep.

Saturday: Did half of a half marathon (most all of the six miles were downhill, twice as long as my most recent training jog). Sunday: hour long bootcamp then walked another 1.5 miles Monday: rest Tuesday: unplanned rest Wednesday: 3 x max rep strict press at 65, 60 and 55 lb. Then Barbell (35 lb) step ups 18" and burpees in 12 min (total 128 reps) Thursday: rest Friday: 30-20-10 reps of of 1) pullups & double unders, rest 2 min, 2) kettlebell swings & bench press 55 lb, rest 2 min, 3) rowing (calories) & medicine ball half moons, 2 min rest, 4) 5 min max reps 100m shuttle run (got 8).

It's been 3 1/2 months since back surgery. Slowly coming back to baseline.

Been away for a while and enjoyed a race in Colorado two weeks ago. Upper body work out and a 6 miler thereafter....tough when I don't hit the road until 10:00. Busy day, but the work outs help me to relax. Next up are back to back road races in Connecticut on a Sat. and Rhode Island on Sun.

@VA: Yoga is a good fill-in and you will actually look better after a break if you keep your diet pretty clean. You can actually grow in the process.

I'm very routine-driven. A disruption to my routine generally means no workout.

I mean, I try - but I just can't bring myself to do it. I still manage to work out 20 times a month even with the disruptions. We'll see.

Life is about to change big time in these here parts...

VA - not 100% sure why "hitting the road" means no workouts - maybe not regular workouts but here are two thoughts 1) couples resistance 2) travel TRX system - goes anywhere there is a door !!

You should be able to do bodyweight stuff to at least keep a level of fitness.
