Once upon a time I was going to try for a world record squat (190lb body weight). Then I ripped my shoulder which ended me for bench press and powerlifting competitions. My pr on a raw squat is 615.

I'm curious what that is. I know what a plank is but adding the word "climb" definitely alters that for me.

looking forward to the day I can plank climb to the top of 11ft poles again. I could do it a year ago. Watched it fade away in spite of dancing just as much.

Same here. Last time I attempted a heavy squat my balance was slightly off and I threw out my back. So I'm much more conscious of that here on out. Still do squats. Less weight just way more reps.

I've never trusted my sense of balance to do very heavy squats.

Once upon a time I would do leg press at 990 lb (the most the machine would hold - 11 x 45 lb plates on each side) but I've never "free" squatted over 400.

It will come back quickly as you were very fit previously. Key is listen to your body and don't push too hard at first. Low impact first and build up from there.

I did however almost immediately lose 11lbs after surgery. Mostly organs that were many times the size they should have been and edema. I really need to lose about 15 more and get the muscle mass back where it should be.

I was "sort" of fit. The last 6 months before surgery took a toll, I gained a bunch of weight and was getting weaker, in spite of working out daily. I know I have lost a lot more, my poling is very weak. And I have to build slowly because I don't want any setbacks.

an hour of cardio yesterday. likely same tonight.

time to add back leg work & crunches.
