1st WOD back after week off for Ankle Sprain. Modified for my injury:
Warm Up - 2 rounds 20 Squats (carefully) 20 sit ups w/14# wallball 30 shoulder rolls Strength - Seated Strict Press -3x - 95/105/115/125 - (about 20# off my PR, but good for seated on box) "The Gimp" My name for the modified WOD 100 Ring Push Ups with ankles crossed 100 Ring Pull Ups with ankles crossed 20:14 Everyone else was doing "GI Jane" - 100 Burpee Pull-ups - Phew, dodged that one! LOL Felt good to be working out again. Go for formal PT eval on Thursday. |

You go as fast as you can on the carry. Walking is easier on the legs but there is more up & down motion so when the weight is heavy, it's more difficult on the grip. My slow jog keeping the hands level is harder on the quads but I can travel more distance faster before my grip gives out.

SVC - is the farmer carry a Run or Walk event? I know it's run when you drop it but what about the time you're carrying it?
Sounds like fun, might have to suggest it for sometime in the next couple weeks (or more) when I can run again (ok...probably 5 weeks or so! :( ) |

400m farmers carry (20 kg kettlebells).
When you drop the KB, you run 400m around the bldg before picking up your KB to continue. Made the first 200m, dropped/ran, made 150m more before left fingers slipped and had to run again. 8:22 Yesterday did weighted pullups. 5-5-5-3-3-3 reps for 0, 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, 12.5 lbs. Very happy (all unbroken). then 3 rds 400m run, 15 thrusters (65 lbs), 20 toes-2-bar. 17:34. Grip has no stamina. |

RICE! Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation.
Stay off that foot/leg. Your trainers are right. No running for a while. You'll be subbing rowing for a while. |

OK, Doc said Torn Ligaments...I now find that's exactly what a sprained ankle is...(that and stretched ligaments - minor sprain). But....Now I have an air cast so I thought, go to the box and do some upper body stuff.
NOT - Trainers say - not with that leg! Because my ankle and leg are swollen still, they recommend I wait until the swelling goes down and get the PT started. Increased circulation, although upper body, could lead to increased swelling at the injury site. Guess I didn't think of that...LOL This is now officially my "Rest Week" - sucks, but gotta do it to get healthy again! |

Back squats. 5-5-5-3-3-3 120lb, 127.5lb, 135lb, 140lb, 145lb, 150lb. New 3 rep max for me.
?10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 reps of: Handstand Push-ups (red band), Power Cleans 95 lbs "Diet" is over. Had a slice of 7 layer chocolate cake at the sports bar tonight. Tummy very full. Too full. Two nights in a row. Maybe I'll go back to my "diet" again...just wish I could regain the weight I lost in my boobies. |

SVC - Jogged to breakfast? I'll get there someday! LOL
Before the twist, I did a bunch of moving of boxes and mowed the lawn at the sold house then went to my sisters for a "home" WOD - split/stacked firewood for a few hours with her and my niece. Then the damn TWIST. We'll see what the box has to say about scaled work. |
