Out of pure curiosity.. How many on here are vegetarians? I like to say I'm a part time vegetarian. meaning I will still eat meat, but my main diet is veggies. I am lucky it is a lot easier having accessible while at work.

The attached picture is of my girlfriend that is a vegetarian these days. Seem to be working for her but then she does drink 100 grams of whey protien isolate a day most of the time.

I only wish I could eat as clean as she does.

One thing I have learned is that vegetarians that don't eat meat for ethical reasons can be perfectly happy eating all the pasta and sugar, and plant oil they want. As a result, it is possible to a fat vegetarian.

As pushed by by the beef/swine and poultry industry. I won't agrue with you either... I get my facts from life experience and oh... let's see an several certified experts from the exercise industry/ a licensed and cerified dietian who receved her Dr. with a dissertation on vegetarian/vegans and physical fittness. We were also included in a study by the Berkerly Heart Lab.

It's simple... YOU are wrong... end of aurgment... see how simple that was?

Hate to tell you this... but... WRONG! Your answer is typical of meat eaters. We have been vegetarians for 37 years. Our protein intake surpasses most meat eaters. If you plan your diet correctly you can get a fully balanced protein intake from vegetables alone. It's not hard.

IF you are going to be a hard core body builder then I would suggest an animal supplement. But... I do know one young lady that was a Vegan and has been a Vegan for many years who won a female body building contest. Sooo...

You really cannot get complete protein from consuming veggies only. Muscle growth is heavily reliant on protein.

Yes we work out. The female half spends 9 hours a week in the gym. The male half spends 6 hours a week. We also spend time each summer swimming and or diving.

Male half is retired from USN/deep sea diver and was a vegetarian for most of his career. Being a vegetarian and exercising is no different than being a meat eater, know what you eat and pay attention to your diet. And YES you can get balanced proteins from veggies.

As with any diet... moderation and common sense. Hoo Ya!

Dear forum police Capt.Sed. I forgot a interesting part of my original post (sleeping pill & beer). I wanted to know if anyone that is a vegetarian or vegan, that works out. How well does it work with your fitness routine. Can you tell a difference in being a vegetarian? I have fallen of the wagon.

Right, but this is a fitness forum, if you are a vegetarian, and work out, can you post about it? what is your workout routine? how many calories do you consume?

Based on your photos, you're not particularly muscular, so I'd guess that you don't do much resistance working out.
