Any ultra runners out there? Anyone doing the Stump Jump 50k or the Lookout 50m this year? We are both doing the 50k then hitting the party downtown after. Shoot us a bird if you plan on running it. N and C.

I run sprints for my HIIT but I have all the respect for some of these ultra marathoners. I was reading an article this morning about what they call the most dangerous race in the world. It's 100 miles I think some where in the Smokies and they said that only 14 people have even completed the damn thing. I'm to big of a pussy for that shit

Having passed up our mountainous ultras, we found a great pine strewn non-technical ultra in Laurel, MS. We ran it in March this year. If anyone wants something extremely tame to start with, I would look into the Mississippi 50.

Once we developed an endurance base, we rarely trained more than 20 miles per week. Most of our "training" came via races. We liked the longer stuff because it was much more laid back. We liked having the option to take a break, maybe catch a few Z's, and drink a beer or two.

I like trail run but I don't even do a marathon distance in a week let alone 50 or 100 miles. I just don't have the endurance for that its pretty awesome that you guys do that together though.

Hey Jinx, have you ever met a runner that wasn't sexy?
