Negative? no, critical yes. I maintain my stance, working out as you advocate is asking for trouble. End of story.

Maybe I should ask my clients to post endorsements for me too! After all, I'm a Nationally Certified PT with certifications from ASCM and WITS.

Hey kinddraggon congrats on your progress. I agree w/ you on trusting your p.trainer. Can tell you from you my perspective you can't go wrong
Case in point is the direction/encouragement I gotten from my p.t./bud 'nakedathlete'! Been working w/ him for three years. Got me thru plantar faciatitis & rotor cuff issues. Now run 5k almost every other day.Nakedathlete and every other credible p.t. definitely deserve our respect. In the meanwhile "you go girl!" |

Funny, but every time I squat (front, back or overhead) or deadlift, if I don't keep my weight on my heels, my balance tips forward, and my quads get sore. When I sit back and make sure I've engaged my glutes and hamstrings. Definately feel the difference.
Engage the glute muscles. mrs svc |

See?! Everyone says says something different. :)
I'll watch out for where I keep my weight focused when I'm on the Elliptical and Stairclimber at the gym. They must not have a "Jacob's Ladder" at the gym we go to. I don't remember anything like you describe. PS - I was only 2 in 1970. LOL |

Mrs. Svc is once more spot on. I would rely on the proven methods of working out.
Exercising, practically on your tiptoes is practically begging for an injury, which is almost a guarantee. |

USING YOUR HEELS IS USING THE BONE STRUCTURE TO SUPPORT YOUR WEIGHT AND DEEMPHASISING THE IMPACT ABSORPTION ASPECT OF THE GLUTES. BIOMECHANICS, KINESIOLOGY AND PHYSICS GUARANTEE WHAT I SUGGESTED. ITS NOT 1970 ANYMORE.
