User Details are only visible to members.	I didn't mean to imply that I had injured tendons. They're actually fine and I've been told by two specialists that there was no chance of rupture. It's just that, when you have a plate put in there are a few tendons that rub against it constantly, and that can cause a great deal of pain. Also, the original trauma also traumatizes the tendons and it can take them quite some time to recover.

User Details are only visible to members.	I got this for my wife as a gag gift last year. No effective use what so ever for her... besides wondering what its like to masterbate as a man. I hate this thing... besides the endless amounts of laughter I get when people are over and I walk around with it like its a common practice.... (Oh this... just getting my workout on... :) ) To above on the rehab part: I would be afraid to use the shake weight if your tendons are injured due to potential ripping/tearing or just the shock of the "shaking".

User Details are only visible to members.	The only -- ONLY -- possible use I could see for one is rehab. In July of last year my forearm snapped in half in the middle of a bench press. I wound up in surgery for 4 hours and now have a steel plate running most the length of my forearm, held in by 5 screws. When it snapped, it also dislocated my wrist (being under almost 400 lbs at the time probably didn't help matters any). The arm itself healed rather quickly. The photo I'm submitting post with of me deadlifting is two weeks after the cast was removed, and I'm holding over 600 lbs. My wrist, however, gives me trouble to this day. It wasn't until two weeks ago that I could take a handoff on the bench press without screaming in pain for a second or two. I've tried all sorts of rehab techniques; stretching, hot wax baths, ice, estim, racehorse liniments, various devices designed to work the wrist and forearm muscles. As something that would, as an earlier poster mentioned, work the smaller, stabilizing muscles in the wrist and forearm, it might be useful in helping to strengthen the wrist and thus help the injured person avoid the painful parts of the wrist's range of motion (flexion, extension, adduction, abduction, lateral or medial rotation). For example, I get excruciating pain with extension and medial rotation. I used a gyroscopic device and a hammer weight to help strengthen those areas so the tendon pain I suffer from isn't triggered quite so much. Now, I use them as warmups to loosen the tendon in question, so by the time I'm ready to go heavy on the bench I can handle the weight without screaming or having the pain short-circuit my nerves and screw up my form.

Back on topic - if it gets people to start exercising, GREAT! But I don't know of anyone who got one and continued to use it. From a functional fitness point of view - FAIL.

Free weights are better than machines because your muscles have to control a wider range of movement so a "shake" weight would mean more small muscle contractions. The theory seems sound. Mainly I am just responding to bump the thread to see if anyone has used it and can shed some insight.
