Wife and I had a good race in Juneau. Despite some thigh pain, wife took 2nd in the women's masters division and I took 1st in the mens masters division. Rainy, foggy and temps slightly over 50. Very hilly course, but similar to running in WV.

Next up for us is a double weekend: a 25k trail race in Vermont and the next day a half marathon in Maine. Thinking we will run the trail run so we can race in Maine. If the crowd looks soft, we may switch things up.

Good luck. We ran New Orleans a few years back and enjoyed it. Roads were in rough condition but the post race field was a nice place to collapse into a few beers.

So far, wife and I ran Key West in January, Kansas City in February, a 50 miler in Mississippi in March, Southern Washington state in April, Kalamazoo in May and a trail race in WV. We have Juneau, Alaska; Pocatello, Idaho; Fort Collins, Co so far planned in the Fall.

I've been hanging out with folks who do lots of obstacle races. There's a gym in Las Vegas called Camp Rhino that is full of obstacles for practicing (and sometimes they take them across the street to Sunset Park). Doing a Spartan is now on my bucket list. Too bad I'm out of town for the Las Vegas Spartan in April (but I did sign up for the BADASS DASH later that month).

I did my first Spartanrace in 2013. I'm looking to do the trifecta in 2014.
