FHTOTD: continued (albeit excruciatingly slow) progress. another hard fought lb bites the dust! and, my favourite gym leggings (and other clothes) are getting loose. tho that means i hafta see a tailor. but that's a good problem to have, in this case.

Getting back into the gym today after a few weeks of needed rest! I've done good keeping weight under control but curious how good and will find out today. Feeling super strong! :-)

Well I'm not really a fit person anymore, but working on it and more so on being a healthier person. So my HT's are we figured out my body was reacting badly to some foods because of autoimmune issues. I have been sleeping better, and didn't gain any weight through the holiday season, matter of fact I lost a couple and look like I lost more because I'm not puffy. I also feel so much more energized, which bodes well for adding more working out. Lately I have been just poling and very little of that. So I'm looking forward to getting more fit again.

Since retiring two years ago and pursuing my PT degree, I have become one of the untrained and unfit. However over the holiday season I managed to knock off almost 20 pounds and I am not sure how! No major changes to activity and diet, Doc says no major changes to blood sugars, LDLs, HDLs, etc... Sleep pattern is basically the same. /shrug. Let's hear it for no work and awesome results! My WOOTD.....TV, some studying, and dinner at 7!

FHTOTD: my overindulgences of the holidays were offset by the usual daily moderate healthy eating plus workouts. i may even be able to record another 1 lbs lost if the scale is consistent tomorrow--higher focus on resistance training may be finally starting to pay off for me at the scale!

cardio as a wake up: probably the second best way to start my day. :-)

HT:

OK, so I missed a couple of days. Turns out there is a plus side.

30 days in a row of 1 hour cardio/1 hour weights and (mostly) calorie restriction brought me some great results, but over time I think I had been hurting slightly fasting than I was healing. Overtraining slightly given my calorie intake. 3 days off gave me some time to recuperate. In both arm day yesterday and leg day today I added 1 rep to almost all of my sets.

Dead lift is the toughest, not because of my lower body strength, but because my grip begins to slip @5-6 reps @300 lb. But today I got 4 sets of 7 in, plus a 5th of 5. Gyaaar!

At the new gym Mrs met and introduced me to the playboy cover and centerfold from 1958. 80 years old and working hard to stay fit. She look old to me but had a following of 80 year old men at the gym. They where falling all over her. It was fun to watch.
