Ugh... I have totally gotten off track the past 3 weeks. I need to get my butt in gear!

naw, I do not believe I have anything clinical such as depression, that would be dramatic and disrespectful for me to say when people have true issues with that. Just having a hell of a month with flu (and now more people have flu I'm like omfg.) and the office. I'm fine, once its warmer out I think everyone's general mood will pick up.

lost - can you talk with a therapist about your stresses? As for P90X - it's great if you already know what you are doing. There is no one to correct bad movement. And if you are doing the exercise wrong, with all the repetative lifting, you can really hurt yourself if you are doing it incorrectly (and I've seen that a lot). Invest in yourself with a properly certified trainer to make sure you know how to lift the weights safely and effectively. High intensity, short duration, cross training does work. Working different muscle groups in functional movements. Pushing yourself hard (so you max out in <15 min most times). And stress reductions/stretching/yoga. A very effective program for fitness.

I have done it, its a hard core work out for sure. My only suggestion is definately listen to your body's limitations...and do not do plyometrics until you have built up some muscle and stamina. I sprained my back doing plyo before I was ready :0). I do not love food, I am definately not a foody. I like food...but see it more as fuel vs. taste. But lately I am just tripping.

ugh. I have been discouraged lately. With my illness, the stress of my job and everything else in life that is stressfull, I have been having a horrible time with my eating disorder. Plus my stomach is so bloated, I think I have some intestinal virus or something. I look pregnant. Well, the vision in my mirror looks pregnant. What terrifies me is I am noticing myself turning towards food lately. Then I get horrifically terrified of gaining weight and then my dysmorphia kicks in. Oye. Its been a long month. I am still eating healthy in relative to most people...but not for me. What a month. I really need a vacation. Sorry to whine lol.

Thanks for thinking about it.

Yeah, I am adjusting my insulin, workout, and medication.

I take Lantus insulin, so it is a little harder to adjust the insulin dose.

My goal is to drop about 25-30 pounds in total. Last time I was down there, I could drop my insulin dose from 30 units to about 10.

tbrm - If you are still having problems with night/early morning lows, have you tried peanut butter/whole grain crackers at bedtime? Or decreasing your dinner insulin bolus (to minimize "feeding" the insulin)? If your basal is adjustable (i.e. on a pump) then you could decrease it at night time on days you workout. If you keep your workout schedule consistent then your body will adjust and you will probably have a new insulin:carb meal bolus pattern. As you change body composition (less fat/more muscle), your correction factor will also be more sensitive. Keep good notes and watch for pattern changes.
